NanoClaw is a lightweight personal AI assistant runtime that emphasizes understandable code and operating-system-level isolation. It was created as a smaller alternative to more complex personal-agent platforms, with the goal of keeping the core system compact enough for users to inspect and customize rather than trusting a large application with broad access to personal data.

Each agent runs inside its own Linux container, providing filesystem isolation instead of relying only on application-level permission checks. The setup script can install required tooling, configure credentials, build the agent container, and pair communication channels such as iMessage, Telegram, Discord, WhatsApp, or a local command-line interface. The installation flow can also invoke a coding agent to diagnose setup failures.

NanoClaw is intended for technical users who want a self-hosted assistant that can interact through everyday messaging channels while maintaining a relatively small and auditable architecture.
