DeepTutor is an open-source platform for lifelong, personalized AI tutoring. It combines conversational tutoring with knowledge bases, retrieval, memory, learning workflows, and integrations that allow the tutor to work with documents, external tools, coding environments, and different language-model providers.

The project has evolved beyond a simple chat tutor into a broader learning environment with guided learning, quizzes, book and knowledge-base creation, deep research, RAG and GraphRAG options, document parsing, configurable reasoning, generated files, and integrations with coding CLIs and MCP services. It also supports multiple accounts and communication channels.

DeepTutor is aimed at learners and developers who want a customizable, self-hostable tutoring system rather than a fixed educational chatbot. Its modular model, retrieval, memory, and tool layers make it suitable for personal study assistants, domain-specific tutors, document-grounded learning, and experiments with long-running AI learning companions.
